Changing weather and seasons

September 28th, 2009

Finally! The weather has turned to what seems more normal for this time of year. Not that it has been hot in this part of the world over the last 2 months or more specifically the last month, but my its been a little “tropical”. I think they said this is the in the top 3 of wettest Septembers of all time. I can attest that it is the wettest September in the years I’ve been here. This makes my 5th of these, and its easily number 1. BUT, my how it is nice outside today. Looks to be shaping up for some 40 degree temps tonight for lows for the next few days. I’m looking forward to more of this 70s and 40s pattern. the next 2 months are the reason I love it here so much.

So Chip made her second trip to the vet in as many months this morning. Seems that she shovels dirt and it gets up her large nose and clogs it, she then earns a trip to the vet. I tried to clean the nose and watched it all weekend, but it just didn’t look like it was doing much better. Vet said she cut it on the inside and removed all the excess dirt, and put her on antibiotics. Seems Cephelexin is her new favorite snack. She just finished a bottle 3 weeks ago.

I’ve gotten distracted this morning. I had more I wanted to say … so maybe I’ll finish this tonight. I’m out for now, but there will be more. Work — what a distraction!

It is nice to see you back, but you didn’t have to rub it in about the great weather. We have had a taste or two of the impending fall, but nothing like you have now. Today is our last hot day for the week in the mid 90’s and cooling down through the rest of the week in the mid to low 80,s and into the high 50’s and 60’s at night. It is time to get back on to the patio just as soon as this cool weather dries things out and gets the mosquitos out of the way. They have really been bad the past few days. Chip is an adventurous hound and is only living up to her terrier DNA which she has absolutely no control over. I am glad you are on top of her injury and have taken appropriate preventative measures. This is a great time of year isn’t it? Football, Raw and finally baseball coming to an end. All the excitement makes Monday nights just an extension of the weekend. It is really like every weekend is 3 days long. Hey, I didn’t tell you , but last weekend during our flight back home through Dallas , we had just taken off heading to Lafayette and the pilot comes on and says that if we would look out the left side of the plane we would see a sight that doesn’t happen too often. It was the space shuttle on the back of a 747 heading for Florida. He was pretty close and we got a real good look. Pretty cool…. he was heading for Barksdale to refuel before heading back to the Cape. Thought you might find that interesting. Looks like things are finally looking up for you… keep up the good work. Talk to you later……
