Wings???
I think I’m gonna head out to some wings tonight. It is Thursday, and we were on such a roll for some time there over the past year, but I guess over the last 2 – 3 months or so, I’ve not been such a steady wing partner. But I will be back in the fold tonight which should be good. I really do like chicken wings smothered in that tasty hot sauce.
The weekend is almost upon us. I think I’ve got a pretty busy one. I joined a church softball league which starts tomorrow night. Wow, hard to believe I’ve reached that point where I am that guy in his 30s that is playing church softball. It really seems like just yesterday that I was that 14 or 15 kid that was playing for EBBC with those grown men. I’m not shocked by the fact that I’m a grown man. Quite the opposite. I’m enjoying and embracing that reality. I don’t have any desires to head by to that point in my life. Sure, it was easier, and had less responsibilities, but I’m very happy with the way my life has gone up until this point, and very excited about what is to come. The part that weirds me out a touch is how fast its flown by. John Mayer has a song called “Stop this Train” that describes this very thing. I’m not sure I want to stop it, maybe just slow it down a touch. And since I can’t do either, why worry on it? So that covers tomorrow night, the rest of the weekend will be filled with golf, some teaching golf, some dog park, yard work and then the typical house chores. Nothing to strenuous actually, but enough to keep the pace from getting stale. I really am stoked to meet some new friends tomorrow night.
Well, I managed NOT to draft down my Death Cab tickets. I’m going to have to file a police report, but I’ve been so busy since Tuesday I’ve not been able to get it down. I just ended up buying 2 more tickets Tuesday night. They are actually much better seats. If I think back over the shows I’ve seen at the Ryman, these are without a doubt the best ones I’ve had. So even though I just burned another $150, thanks Mr or Mrs ticket thief, for now I have better seats! As for the car … well, nothing is wrong and its all better now. And the AC, well … I’m still waiting until next Tuesday. Since its just me, I can rough things out pretty easily. I just open the windows and turn on the fans. Since the temp has been back in the 70s and 50s its not been so bad. But let me tell you, last weekend was ruff. (like that play on words for the Chipper?) I think things might have been done a little differently had I not been the only one living in the house …
Speaking of the Chipper (I call her Chip, Chipper … I’ve heard Chipolte, Chipperdoodle) … oh, I can’t leave off “Big Fluffy” … she pretty much just comes to the sound of my voice. She’s doing well. Currently enjoying the wet weather because that means there are more puddles that she can splash around in and make bigger. Something about that dog and water. She still doesn’t like to come inside much. She is 98% an outside dog. Even sleeps outside. I really can’t complain about that one bit.
Well that kinda gets you caught up on the week thusfar and what is to come. Other than that, pretty much just cruising along. Solving my work problems 2 at a time, and keeping things in the road.
